Adam and Ellen Landreth (Adeline & Lorelai-coming soon)

.)    What is your vocation? Adam:I'm the Director of Online Programs for the Bryan School of Business & Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Ellen: I am a stay at home momma to Adeline, our one year old. I also keep two sweet kids during the week.

.)    Tell us about your family: Ellen is born and raised in Rock Hill---Adam is a transplant from the Winston Salem, NC area.  He moved here for love in 2014 after we met on Christian Mingle (yes--it does work!).  We're growing! Adeline is 13 months old and Lorelai is due to join us on June 30th, 2017.  We have two standard poodles, Zoey and Chloe.

.)    Who was the main human influence that lead you to a relationship with Christ? Adam:My old youth pastor, Tim Hicks, during my 20+ years at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC. Ellen: My parents were them main influences in my life growing up. Taking us to church regularly, teaching in Bible drill, and and instilling Christian values in our lives. I also grew up swing my mom read her bible in the mornings, which also had a big impact on me.

.)    What is your favorite Bible Verse(s)? Adam: Matthew 5:16, Nahum 1:7, Psalm 37:4 Ellen: The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. Zeph 3:17

.)    What has the Lord been teaching you over the last 6 months?Adam:Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust, reliance, and acknowledgement of Him. Ellen: God has been revealing more ways that I am in need of following Him. Through more consistent Bible study and fellowship with a couple friends as we walk through scripture together, God is reminding me of His grace and love in my weaknesses.

.)    What is something most people don’t know about you? Adam: I love to cook.  The kitchen is my favorite room in the house.  I own Julia Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" and read it for fun...but I could eat pizza and sushi for nearly every meal and be perfectly content.  I've traveled to about 25 countries and think Filipino food is a way underappreciated Asian cuisine. Ellen: I was born with 3 kidneys. But I'm perfectly normal now!

.)    Do you have any specific prayer requests? Adam: For Ellen in her last couple months of pregnancy and my brother's salvation.Ellen: That God would give us wisdom as we raise Adeline and soon Lorelai. That we will show them the love of our Lord in everything we do and they'll come to know Him as their personal Lord and Savior.
