Do Not Fear

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you;   I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Beloved,

A dear saint shared this Scripture with me recently and it is a sweet and precious promise.  We have no reason to fear for the Lord is with us.  Worry and anxiety can often overtake us, but we have to remind ourselves of the truth of God’s Word: Do not fear, for the Lord is with you. You are not alone.  Our God honors His Word.

We do not have to fear because God, the one who is with us, will strengthen and help us and uphold us with his righteous right hand.  He is not just the God, He is our God. And our God is a one of strength and power.  We can trust him, “For no word from God will ever fail.” (Luke 1:37) He is trustworthy.  But do you trust him? Do you believe that God will do what he said he will do?  Do not waver in disbelief regarding the promise of God, but be strengthened in your faith fully persuaded that God has the power to do what he has promised (Romans 4:20-21).

Peter exhorts us to attack all our anxiety and stress in humility with the eye on the mighty power of God. “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7) The evil one wants us to magnify our anxieties while God wants us to magnify His power. When you are overcome with worry remind yourself how big God is compared to what is causing you to worry. Cast all your anxieties on the Lord because He cares for you. He not only cares for you, but He is powerful enough to deliver you from all your trials.

Let us not fear, but trust in our great God for He will strengthen us and help us and uphold us with his righteous right hand.
