Not by Might

Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6b

Beloved,

Praise God for a wonderful Easter Celebration this past Sunday. It was so encouraging to rejoice in the Lord’s resurrection with family, friends and visitors. God answered our prayers this past Sunday by showing his glory and bringing people to hear the good news.  Pray that God would bear fruit from the seeds that were sown this Easter.

As we have been experiencing growth at Park in recent days, we must never forget that all growth is from the Lord.  “So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. (1 Cor. 3:7)” We do not want growth that does not come from the Spirit of God.  We want to work hard planting and watering seeds, but we must bow before the Lord in prayer begging him to bring life by His Spirit; for not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of hosts.  Let’s give all the glory to God for our growth in this season. God is moving by His Spirit among us.

Beloved, there is also a wonderful promise in this verse.  We have the Spirit of God so we know that the Lord will grow His people.  Our labor is not in vain because we know that God loves to grow His people by His Spirit.  We do not trust in our efforts, but we trust in God to bless our efforts by the power of the Holy Spirit.  What a great promise!! Growth does not depend upon how hard we work or how well we work, but in our dependence upon the Spirit God.  Are we depending on God or in our efforts? Pray that God continues to grant His favor upon Park so we know it is not by human strength, nor by human power, but by His Mighty and Powerful Spirit.

In Christ,
